The creators of FES project are Luka Znidarsic and Matija Znidarsic. Both are experienced glider pilots, mechanical engineers and are Schempp-Hirth and LAK sailplane dealers.

Luka Znidarsic

From early youth Luka built free flight models, then radio controlled models and now electro-powered flying models.

At age 15 he started with gliding and won his first nationals as the youngest competitor ever. Luka then flew in numerous international gliding competitions including EJGC 1997, WJGC 1999 and 2001, EGC 2000, WGC 2003, and EGC 2005. He has a total of 1800 hours on sailplanes - 70 000 km in 30 different gliders. At the moment he flies a LAK17A - LZ - which is now upgraded with the FES system.

He completed secondary school as an Electrotechik Electronic, and graduated from Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana as an Aeronautical Engineer. He is a specialist in CAD/CAM technologies and is experienced in sailplane tuning and repairs.

Matija Znidarsic

Luka's father Matija was also a model builder in his childhood. He began gliding in 1970 but stopped due to a lack of time. In 1988 his daughter Nina started gliding. He couldn't stay on the ground so he began gliding again. The following year he bought an old Open Cirrus and was back in the sport! He is now a gliding instructor with about 2000 gliding hours.
He is also a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ljubljana. At the moment he also flies a LAK17A - ZM.
